Wildlife Rescue of Central Texas cares for injured and orphaned wildlife, provides public education programs, and promotes peaceful coexistence with our wild neighbors.

About Us

Wildlife Rescue of Central Texas was founded in Bastrop, Texas in 2024. WRCT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing wildlife in need. We believe in the importance of educating our community about wildlife and their place in our ecosystem.

Critter Concerns

Do you have a wild animal who needs help? Do you have concerns about wild critters in your yard?

What can you do to help your wild neighbors?

What are you doing that might be harmful to wildlife?

Donate

Your donation can make a real difference in the lives of the animals we care for. Every dollar helps us provide medical care, food, and shelter for injured and orphaned wildlife. There are lots of ways you can support WRCT. Help us make a difference for wildlife today!

Education

A core part of WRCT's mission is wildlife education. We believe understanding each animals' place in our ecosystem leads to coexistence. We offer classroom and community education programs in Central Texas to teach children and adults about our wildlife.

Wildlife Rescue of Central Texas is currently working on construction for a new wildlife rehabilitation facility in Bastrop, TX. Two acres of land has been generously donated by Lost Pines Animal Alliance and made possible by the Mary E. Barina estate! The property will house a building for wildlife care, and outdoor enclosures to accommodate wild animals preparing for release back to the wild. Once the facility is completed, WRCT will apply for state and federal wildlife rehabilitation permits before opening to the public for wildlife care.
